Orach Ruby Gold Seed

$5.00
sold out

Orach Description- (50+ seeds)

This incredible orach boasts striking foliage in a vibrant acid green, accented with cranberry-streaked stalks. Early in the season, you can harvest the young leafy stems, making them an excellent addition to any spring bouquet. If left to grow, the plants will reward you with stunning seedy stems ideal for large midsummer arrangements. The seedpods display a delightful blend of dusty rose and sun bleached moss.

Details

  • Plant type: Hardy annual

  • Height: 5 to 7 ft

  • Site: Full sun

  • Days to maturity: 75 to 110 days

  • Plant spacing: 12 in

  • Pinch: When 8 to 12 in tall

Seed Sowing & Growing Notes

Start indoors in trays 4 to 6 weeks before the last frost; transplant outside after all danger of frost has passed. Orach can also be direct-seeded into the garden once temperatures are consistently above freezing.

Harvesting/Vase Life

You can harvest orach during the foliage stage or once seedpods have formed. For the best results, immediately dip the bottom few inches of the stems in boiling water for 7 to 10 seconds or use Quick Dip, then place the stems in cool water. Seeded stems do not require special treatment. Expect a vase life of 7 to 14 days.
